UT-Dell Medical School’s CHEER lecture series March 10, 2020

Thursday, March 5th was the official launch of the Center for Health and Environment: Education and Research (CHEER) at UT-Dell Medical School. This was the first of a five 5-minute “rapid-fire” talks lecture series. The goal is to showcase work happening in environmental health at UT and in Austin and foster relationships amongst people interested in the environment and health.  Faculty from Pharmacy, Engineering, Dell Med, and the College of Liberal Arts gave talks that cover topics ranging from exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals, housing and asthma, waterborne exposures and health implications, and global health.

Texas PSR founder and vice president, Dr. Lisa Doggett had a presentation on advocacy and the importance of physicians and health care providers’ voices in environmental health legislation and discussions.
