Toxics and Health

Toxics and Health

Toxics in our environment can adversely affect health.

Infants and young children are especially vulnerable because substances such as caustic household cleaners, lead, second and third hand smoke, BPA in food containers, and pesticides can interfere with their endocrine, immune, and neurological system development. Toxics can jeopardize the health of pregnant women and their developing fetuses as well.

We work to educate health professionals, the public, and lawmakers about the health impacts of toxics in our homes and environment. Our goal is for all people to live in healthy, toxic-free environments.
